Effect of arboreal activity on nesting site selection in Apodemus argenteus was examined by using nest boxes, a footprint recording technique, and live‐trapping. Although the breeding season of A. argenteus was from April to September, the use of nest boxes placed on the trunks of trees was observed only from late July to September when use of the arboreal habitat by A. argenteus became active.

Apodemus argenteus е вид бозайник от семейство Мишкови (Muridae). Видът е незастрашен от изчезване. Разпространение. Разпространен е в Япония. In one of the Apodemus species, A. argenteus, which is endemic to Japan, it is known that B chromosomes were confirmed only in individuals (2n = 46 + B chromosome) from … Previously, many studies have revealed the presence of B chromosomes in wild mouse taxa of the genus Apodemus (Rodentia, Muridae). The inter- and intraspecific patterns of morphological differentiation have been evaluated, using a Fourier analysis of the mandible outline.

Two congeneric species of Japanese field mice, Apodemus speciosus and Apodemus argenteus, differ considerably in their feeding strategies and habitat utilizations. Although both species are omnivorous, previous studies demonstrated that A. argenteus typically eats a wide variety of food items than A. speciosus.

The relative importance of the effect of insular isolation and latitudinal climatic gradient The size and spatial distribution of home ranges in two sympatric field mouse species, Apodemus speciosus and Apodemus argenteus, were revealed by the capture-recapture method in a temperate deciduous forest from June 1987 to June 1990. In A. speciosus, the home ranges of males were significantly larger tha those of females, and overlapped with Apodemus species with the five variables selected by stepwise method. Fig. 2. Apodemus argenteus

We studied an occurrence of chromosomal aneuploidy for ten individuals in the small Japanese field mouse, Apodemus argenteus, from the western mountainous area of Kanagawa Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. Eight of the individuals examined showed the standard 2n = 46 and FNa = 48 constitutions as the most frequent karyotype. However, of those eight individuals, seven carried an inter-cellular

Space-related relationships between individuals were investigated during the breeding season in a natural population of Apodemus argenteus (Temminck) by using the catch-mark-release method and microsatellite DNA markers. Several overlapping patterns of home ranges in breeding males and females were observed. Although this species is thought to be monogamous, DNA analysis revealed polygynous Apodemus argenteus (Temminck, 1845) – Small Japanese Field Mouse : References Expert(s): Expert: Guy G. Musser : Notes: Department of Mammology, American Museum Results: We examined mitochondrial cytochrome b (Cytb) and control region (CR) gene sequences in two Japanese wood mouse species, Apodemus argenteus and A. speciosus, of temperate origin and found signs of rapid expansion in the population from Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan.

Population density, rate of appearance of new (unmarked) individuals, reproduction, survival rate and habitat use were monitored during pre‐ and removal periods. A. argenteus, which is the direct competitor of A. speciosus, and is also widely distributed across the Japanese archipelago - taken together, the two Apodemus are the most abundant rodents in Japan (Abe, 1994; Sekijima & Sone, 1994). There is some evidence that A. speciosus exerts some competitive pressure over A. argenteus (Sekijima & Sone The size and spatial distribution of home ranges in two sympatric field mouse species, Apodemus speciosus and Apodemus argenteus, were revealed by the capture‐recapture method in a temperate deciduous forest from June 1987 to June 1990.
